Uroa Bay Beach Resort

Uroa Bay Beach Resort is a newly completed resort with a beautiful 400 meter long private white powder sand beach complete with umbrellas and sun beds overlooking the crystal clear Indian Ocean.

Accommodation
Uroa Bay consist of 40 rooms, all with a king size bed and a private furnished terrace built and decorated in local style. All rooms come equipped with mosquito nets on the beds, private bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, mini bar, television, and telephone with internet connection. In 24 of the rooms the sofa can also double up as a third bed if requested.

 Karafuu Hotel is located on the Michamvi peninsular on the Southeast Coast of Zanzibar.The Hotel is large and long-established beach resort catering to a largely European packaged holiday market.

The Hotel is located 60 kms on a tarmac road from Stonetown and the international airport.

 128 rooms which are divided into 3 categories;

Junior Suites-built under makuti thatch and furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture, these 26 junior suites facing the sea, under a beautiful palm-grove or on a small hill.

Cottages-built under makuti thatch and furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture, these 35 cottages comprise: entrance through private garden, breathtaking view veranda, ample bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom with shower.

Garden rooms-Built as well under makuti thatch and furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture, these rooms comprise: bedroom, wardrobe, bathroom with shower, and balcony.

Accommodations

All 70 en-suite rooms and suites are spacious, fully air-conditioned and tastefully furnished in a relaxed Zanzibar style. All offer terrace or balcony, refrigerator and safety deposit boxes. There are 10 Standard rooms located on the ground floor with terrace and garden views. 40 Deluxe rooms are located closer to the beach. 20 Suites are located on the upper floor with large balcony and sun beds, walk in dressing room, and large bathrooms.

The villas themselves are nothing short of full luxury two bed apartments, complete with two bedrooms with attached en suite bathrooms, living room, dressing room and large furnished terrace.

Out on the veranda stands a four-poster bed draped in silk and your own private plunge pool with long views of the Indian Ocean. Each villa is equipped with air conditioning, telephone, mini bar, satellite TV and DVD player.

 

Baraza Resort

Located on Zanizbars eastern peninsula near Bwejuu, this five star all-inclusive resort offers a luxury service with dramatic style. With views over the Indian Ocean and striking traditional architecture, from afar, the hotel could be mistaken for one of the sultans palaces.

Accommodation at Baraza Resort and Spa

Various sizes and styles of room are on offer. There are 30 villas. 14 are one-bedroom, 7 of which are sea view and 7 of which are beachside. They are all en-suite with free-standing baths. They feature walk-in dressing rooms, living rooms, terraces with sun-loungers, plunge-pools, televisions, CD players, lounge-beds and mini-bars with tea and coffee making facilities. There are also 15 two bedroom standard villas (5 with views over the hotel grounds and 10 with ocean views). These offer all the above amenities but include an extra double bedroom with a more basicen suite(shower only).

The resort also offers one two bedroom Presidential Villa. This is positioned on the ocean front. The villa has two master bedrooms, both with superioren suite, a central living area, small kitchenette, guest wash room, large sun terrace and superior plunge pool. A butler or maids lodgings adjacent to the Presidential Villa can be made available.

All villas are spacious and clean and very comfortable. If you are dissatisfied in any way with your villa staff will do their best to move you.


Though the hotel openly boasts of antiques and grandeur throughout, some of the hotels furnishings are less impressive than others and not all items are as genuine as it at first appears. To many this comes as a disappointment. However, the hotel is undoubtedly sumptuous despite the occasional fake flower or reproduction chest. It is, after all, important to remember that the hotel is NOT in an authentic palace, it is modern, and much of the comfort it offers is due to that fact.
